Critical Response to Iraqi Prisoners Article

The Stanford and Milgram experiments were very controversial. The reasons they were like this is because these experiments degraded humans by putting them through pain and humiliation. Ethical concerns like human rights and confidentiality were very important. The scientists let people inflict pain upon others and that is very wrong. People should be treated with respect and not have their confidentiality torn from them.
The Iraqi prisoners were also humiliated, just like the Stanford and Milgram, only the Iraqi prisoners had to endure it so severely. The prisoners also had pain and abuse inflicted upon them. The psychologists learned that when someone is in a different environment, they can easily adapt to different roles. The people who abuse the prisoners would probably be very good people if they were not in that environment. Control is pushed upon them which makes them feel invincible.
The information is still important because it can relate to the world today. It is important because the way people act when they are somewhere different is truly astounding. With this information, we can determine what kinds of situations can affect a person, or change them. We can determine how quickly people can change when they are told to fill a role different from the ones they were used to. It is quite sad to see how people can go from respectable humans to rage-filled monsters.

Experiment Name: Personality and Relationships
Brief Description: This questionnaire asks personal questions of ones behaviour, and how they view themselves when compared to others. The purpose is to see how many people are insecure about themselves, both emotionally, mentally and physically.

Method Used: The method used was a multiple choice questionnaire.
Critique how effective that method is for the objective: I do not think this method is the proper method for such personal questions like these. A better method would be one where you are able to describe how you feel about a situation, person, place or thing.
What insight was gained: I did not really gain any insight. Except for some question that I had answered actually made me think of how critical I am about getting good grades.

Method Used: The method used was a questionnaire. They asked you to name your Best friends, good friends, and acquaintances. Then after you put your friends’ names in they give you questions on how they affect your life, and your feeling towards them.
Critique how effective that method is for the objective: I think this method is a good way to really make you think of who is actually your best friend, compared to your acquaintance.
What insight was gained: As I was answering the questions, more personal things were connected to my good friends, instead of my best friend.

Critique how effective that method is for the objective: The method used was good for these types of questions that were asked.
What insight was gained: I did not gain any insight really, I guess I did think over my past relationships in regards to the questions.
